COMICS SHOULD SMELL GOOD!! EP. #82

In the aftermath of Video Monkey and Lady Video Monkey's disappearance, things almost fell apart here at CSSG until Anna came through with the brilliant idea to do a "VLOG" as Morgan informs us that is what the kids are calling it these days... So while there might not be any pictures, titles or editing to speak of, there is no less excitement for the fantastic funnybooks that are hitting the shelves this super nice Wednesday here in Seattle.

And a BIG thanks to our honorary Lady Video Monkey Anna for staying up and editing these things together!!

We're starting this year off right with Space Godzilla, the last issue of Punk Rock Jesus, Fatale, more Hickman Avengers, female Prophet clones and much more!!! While everyone may have a different cure for the New Year hangover blues, here at Zanadu, we know there is nothing more soothing than 20 pages of four color nonsense!!

SPECIAL GUEST RECOMMENDATION

PHANTOM STRANGER #0 - #3

(W) Dan Didio, (P) Brent Anderson, (I) Scott Hanna

Regular Zanadu customer, Mitchell Serebrenik, recommends Phantom Stranger by Dan Didio (W), Brent Anderson (P) and Scott Hanna (I). This new take on the classic DC Comics character is truly an innovation. Issue #0 introduces an interesting take on who the Stranger was in his original earthly incarnation, and why he has been a wandering Stranger in the world through the passing millennia. In issue #1 the stage is set for the current, on-going series. In counterpoint to the arcane worlds we are used to seeing the Stranger working in, this version also has the Stranger taking on a "civilian" identity of Philip Stark, an average sub-urban husband and dad with a family, mortgage and soccer games to fill his life. But when the beings you have pissed-off in the past include Trigon and his daughter Raven, Dr. Thirteen, Pandora (the one with the box, not the tunes), Haunted Horseman and the mighty Spectre don't expect a happy, normal life.
