You would think after reaching the age of 28, I would outgrow juvenile, ultra violent comic books that at first glance have no redeeming merit.... Well, you're wrong. Dead wrong. I mean look at that cover!! So badass! So burly!! So I wish this was out when i was 15!! Strode reads like the early Spider-Man issues with all its teenage angst and crime noir influence mixed with the Flex Mentallo stuff from Doom Patrol, except injected into the eye with a giant cartoon syringe of meth and cleaning products! In the words of the king, Don't ask, just buy!! RECOMMENDED BY CASEY!!

Casey and Morgan attempt to dig their way out from under the monster pile of comics this week that threatened the very lives of our brave clerks!! We've got new Thrizzle from Michael Kupperman, Super-Hero awesomeness from Paul Grist, demons in hell from the ever amazing Mike Mignola, Dock Ock continuing his quest to bed Mary Jane, creator owned crime-noir from Diggle and Jock, sexy space adventuresses, cities built on the backs of whales and ponies for all you Bronies! Eclipsing all of this, though only slightly, is the sheer amount of METAL brought to you by Becky Cloonan, Andy Belanger and Karl Kerschl! In fact, it was so metal that Casey forgot to even mention the new team of Latour and Klein taking the reins on Winter Soldier which promises to be a superb spy thriller taking you to the darkest depths of the Marvel Universe!!

After a short break, Paul Grist, master of the sequential arrangement of framed boxes returns with his brilliant and pure love letter to super-hero books of the past! Mudman reads like early Ditko Spider-Man complete with reluctant teenage angst ridden heroes, weird half naked ocean powered villains, mysterious mentors dressed as pirates and a gorgeous girl next door all wrapped up in a perfectly crafted package of pure fun. This is a creator who has clearly found exactly what he wants to do and is having a blast drawing this book for other people to enjoy! RECOMMENDED BY CASEY!
