SHACKLETON ANTARCTIC ODYSSEY GN

(W/A) Nick Bertozzi

Ernest Shackleton was one of the last great Antarctic explorers, and he led one of the most ambitious Antarctic expeditions ever undertaken. This is his story, and the story of the dozens of men who threw in their lot with him, many of whom nearly died in the unimaginably harsh conditions of the journey. It's an astonishing feat - and was unprecedented at the time - that all the men in the expedition survived. Nick Bertozzi has documented this remarkable journey with such wit and fiendish attention to detail that it's impossible not to get caught up in the drama of the voyage.

WICKED + THE DIVINE #1

(W) Kieron Gillen (A) Jamie McKelvie

Every ninety years, twelve gods incarnate as teenagers. They are loved. They are hated. In two years, they are dead. The team behind critically thermonuclear floor-fillers Young Avengers and PHONOGRAM reunite to start a new ongoing superhero fantasy with a beautiful oversized issue. Welcome to THE WICKED + THE DIVINE, where gods are the ultimate pop-stars. But remember: just because you're immortal, doesn't mean you're going to live forever.

It takes a big person to admit when they were wrong and the last time Gillen/McKelvie put out a new book, well...I was friggin' wrong. Sure, people seemed to really enjoy it, but I felt that there was something missing that had drawn me to their first work PHONOGRAM all those years ago. Now back home at Image, the duo seeks to blend the two genres of their previous collaborations into one fantastical pop song of beautiful gods and goddesses doomed to burn out, but never fade away. What is the true reason these gods submit to what seems like such a one sided deal? Is fame, fortune and recognition worth more than an eternity of boring Immortality? Find out in the latest sold out hit from the wizards at Image Comics!!

ESCAPO HC

(W/A) Paul Pope

From the mind of three-time Eisner Award-winner Paul Pope comes Escapo! Like a feverish mash-up of Fellini films, Heavy Metal magazine, and classic Jack Kirby comics, Escapo tells the tale of a circus escape artist extraordinaire, who can escape from any situation - even from Death himself! However, there is one force even more powerful than the Reaper which Escapo must face. A meditation on life, love, and mortality, Escapo is not to be missed! Originally published in 1999 and long out of print, the new Z2 edition of Escapo is fully colored and redesigned in the French BD format, featuring 50+ pages of bonus content. Included here is the rare two-page alternate ending, only seen in the French edition, as well as a new ten-page story and added pin-ups and sketchbook content by Paul Pope.

COPRA #15 ARRIVES

COPRA #15

(W/A) Michel Fiffe

Continuing the exploration of the background and motivations of the major players in Fiffe's groundbreaking series, Issue #15 focuses on the enigmatic Gracie. Stuck in the middle of the city where she was born and raised, Gracie deviates from her Copra mission to catch up with some old friends.

COPRA #15 by Michel Fiffe

COPRA #15 by Michel Fiffe

Copra is a team of misfit mercenaries who have just wrapped up a tragic transdimensional caper, cleared their name from a mass murder and saved the world from apocalyptic domination (in the first 12 issues). Some members died, some triumphed, some went their own ways. But the nightmare is far from being over. The focus now shifts to some of the key members of Copra.

COMICS SHOULD SMELL GOOD!! EP. #86

With Morgan deathly ill due to the another breakout of the dastardly legacy virus that attacked him late last year and Will stuck in the equally nefarious Seattle traffic of yesterday, Anna and Casey were forced to pick up the slack and take center stage in what we are calling "Do robots pee?" or 'We wish we were as cool as Morgan" This episode was a lot of fun to do and we think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this new iteration of the dynamic duo!!

NEW LONE WOLF AND CUB TP VOL 01

(W) Kazuo Koike (A) Hideki Mori

Kazuo Koike returns to Lone Wolf and Cub with an epic sequel, New Lone Wolf and Cub. Ogami Itto, the Lone Wolf, and his nemesis, Yagyu Retsudo, lie dead after their titanic duel. Ogami's young son, Daigoro, stays at his father's side, and none dares help the child-save Togo Shigetada, a samurai on a desperate and deadly mission of his own!

OK, I'm recommending this more on my absolute love for the original series than a guarantee that this new one will be badass. True, the original artist, Goeski Kojima has passed away, but this series sees Daigoro, Itto's son, take center stage, but will he grow to be a master assassin demon like his father or will he find his own path now that the Lone Wolf is dead? Epic samurai action set against the backdrop of ancient edo, Lone Wolf and Cub is one of the greatest human sagas to ever be put on paper and here's hoping that this book will continue the grand tradition set forth by its predecessor!
