GRAPHIC NOVEL SPOTLIGHT!!

Let's face it, the world of comic books or "Graphic Novels" as they are referred to currently, is overwhelmingly impenetrable for a lot of people these days. The sheer volume of new titles that ship each week make it hard to remember previously published books or even something that came out last Wednesday, but have no fear, Zanadu is here to help you discover what you didn't know you needed in your collection! We have thousands of titles available, but these are a few of our favorite forgotten gems kicking around the store.

THE FICTION TP

(W) Curt Pires (A/CA) David Rubin

//Published by Boom! Studios//
What's to Love: Written by Curt Pires (POP, Mayday) and illustrated by David Rubín (Battling Boy: The Rise of Aurora West), The Fiction is a fountain of fascinating ideas about a group of childhood friends who discover that the past will always come back to find you.

What It Is: Four childhood friends discover a box of strange books that, when read aloud, can transport them to the beautiful, imaginary worlds described within. But when one of them goes missing, the others vow never to reveal where they've been and what they've seen. Years later, when one of the remaining kids, now an adult, also mysteriously disappears, it's up to the last two of the group to dig up their dusty books to find him and finally figure out what happened to their friend all those years ago. Collects the complete mini-series.

And please don't ever hesitate to ask for recommendations or hazy recollections regarding books you might have missed while shopping at the store. Your friendly neighborhood comic monkeys are here to help! Remember, there is a comic for literally everyone on the planet--it's just a matter of unearthing it!
