Copra #18 has arrived you mother fulffers!!! it’s the Xenia issue, the magic issue, the losing your grip on reality which is inconvenient for everybody because of your godlike powers issue.
It’s also the issue that brings this arc to a close. I’ve been focusing on key members of Copra issue by issue, and this Xenia story winds it all down while also setting up the next arc. -FIFFE
MULTIVERSITY: THE JUST #1
(W) Grant Morrison (A) Ben Oliver
The next chapter of the greatest adventure in DC's history is here!
When they last collaborated, Grant Morrison joined artist Ben Oliver (LOBO, BATMAN/SUPERMAN) for the acclaimed ACTION COMICS #0. For their next team-up, the two superstars take a spin around the self-obsessed Earth-16 - a.k.a. Earth-Me!
With all of the world's threats having been handled long ago by their parents, the next generation of supers - including Chris Kent, Damien Wayne, Alexis Luthor, Offspring, Megamorpho, Donna Troy and more - find themselves labeled as superstars more often than super heroes. But with that fame comes complacency, and when a massive threat unlike anything they've ever seen surfaces, this pampered crew finds themselves in way over their head. What secret is Damien keeping from Chris that could tear the world's finest friends apart? Who is the mysterious killer lurking behind the scenes among these spoiled super-children? And what chance do they stand against the monstrous villain that's murdering its way across the Multiverse? All that and more in this exciting stand-alone issue which also acts as chapter three of the MULTIVERSITY saga. Join us, if your dare, for THE MULTIVERSITY!
In what is supposedly his swan song performance by Mr. Morrison before hanging up his cape, the Multiversity explodes like a hyper resonated bullet-sound of Bowie screaming "heroes" throughout time and space powered by the bottomless pit of Kirby Krackle that Morrison has been huffing since the late 1980s. For the third part in the mega eipic that is Multiverstiy, we venture to a world ruled by fashion, fame, money and power; a world that reminds me of not only our own, but of the one seen in issue #2 of Final Crisis which was one of my favorite parts and I'm glad he is revisiting the concept of Super-Hero legend being pieced out, sold, commodified--a world where normal human celebrates faded out of favor...and so did heroes...

Scarper's deathday is just three weeks away, and he clings to the mundane repetition of his life at home and high school for comfort. When Scarper's father mysteriously disappears, he sets off with Vera Pike (the new girl at school) and Castro Smith (the weirdest kid in town) to find him. Facing home truths and knife storms at every turn, will Scarper even survive until his deathday?

COMPLETE JOHNNY NEMO HC
(W) Peter Milligan (A) Brett Ewins
The existentialist hitman of the future! New London of 2921 is a crowded, filthy slime-pit awash with Death-Juice junkies, Latin-spouting armored fascists, exploding nuns and a religious cult who worship Bing Crosby's left testicle. It's also home to ultra-violent, foul-mouthed private eye Johnny Nemo, a streetwise PI who deals in death and simple solutions to complex problems! This classic, remastered collection features never-before-seen art and is the crowning glory of award-winning writer, Peter Milligan and artist Brett Ewins
On one of my trips back home to the frigid coast of the East, I came across and issue of this mind boggling series lost amongst the boxes of back issues that lined the dusty floor. It felt like I was excavating an artifact from so far in the past it might as well be from the future and with it came a message--the future was gonna be WEIRD!! Peter Milligan teams up with frequent collaborator, Brett Ewins to bring you the drugged out, action packed and of course stylishly suave adventures of JOHNNY NEMO, P.I.! This, along with the "Best of McCarthy and Milligan" book has finally captured a moment in comic history that deserves to live on forever!!!

THE COLLECTOR HC
(W/A) Sergio Toppi
WHY WE LOVE IT: The late Sergio Toppi remains one of the great master sequential artists whose work inspired a generation of illustrators and comic artists who followed him. The Collector is Toppi's longest-running original series, now translated into English
for the first time since its debut in 1984.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT: Toppi's breathtaking line work and composition will leave you staring at his pages for hours. While this oversized edition serves as much as an art book as a comic, the adventures of the globescouring, daredevil Collector will appeal to fans of Indiana Jones, Five Ghosts, or Doc Savage.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT: Far from the auction halls of the elite, The Collector seeks out rare and mysterious artifacts across the world. He is at home in the salons of Paris as he is in the jungles of Borneo. Set against the backdrop of late 19thcentury colonialism, The Collector is a delightful, swashbuckling adventure!

Holy effin hell on a stick, this is our ONE HUNDREDTH episode of CSSG, the best comics hype show on the interwebs!! It's been roughly two years since the Video Monkey escaped from his rich, eccentric keeper and took residence in our attic in return for his camera/editing services. If only he would shower...ah well, small battles. Regardless, yo--there are a crap ton of beautiful shiny comics just begging to be taken home by a loving comic nerd like YOU! Yes, you there, laddie!!
But in all seriousness, thank you so so so much to everyone who watches us run our mouths for 15 min every week and an even bigger thank you to those who actually try some of our suggestions! (Though we still love you if you don't.)
This one's a little long, but it's a double sized fist bump of awesomeness just waiting to explode!!
How much do YOU know about bear safety?!! huh?! Seriously, bears are legitimate concern, y'know? Eatin food, terrorizing campers, stalking unsuspecting comic nerds...well, never fear, our very own professor of Marvel, Mr. Will Harris just so happens to be a bear survivalist expert who will answer all questions about bear etiquette should you ever come face to face with one of these monstrous creatures.
Oh yeah, and comics, too I guess. Like, lots and lots and lots of comics!! Female Thor!! Falcon as Cap! New Gods vs Green Lanterns! Viking Horror! Kids against Batman! The dangers of plastic surgery and much much more!!
And don't forget to tune in next week for the special ONE HUNDREDTH episode of CSSG!!!
October 15th is Ladies' Night at Zanadu Comics. The event will start at 7:00 p.m. after regular business hours.
Why Ladies' Night?
Most women have never set foot inside a comic store. Their reasons are many and varied, but most of them revolve around the idea that comics are a guy thing. We all know that's not true. Comics are for everybody. So in hopes of dispelling the myth that comics are for boys, we are having this women only event.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 15th, at 7p.m. and will run until 9:00 p.m. The owner will be watching the door, but he will be the only male in the store. The guests, volunteers, and customers will all be women.
What's going on at the event?
There will be some snacks, some prizes, discounts and a whole lot of comic book talk. We want to hear about comics people love, comics people hate, and what there is to love about comics books as a medium.
We are also happy to say that some local female creators will be joining us.
Kelly Froh, comic creator (The Greatest, My Body is A Lemon, Samson) and co-organizer of the Short Run Comics & Arts Festival.
Eroyn Franklin, comic creator (Detained, Making Tide, For the Record I Know This is a Bad Idea) and co-organizer or Short Run Comics & Arts Festival.
Gina Siciliano, comic creator (Summertime, I Know What I Am).
G. Willow Wilson, comic creator (Air, Cairo, Ms. Marvel) and book author.
Zanadu Comics is located in Downtown Seattle, 1923 3rd Ave (between Stewart and Virginia Streets). (206) 443-1316 www.zanaducomics.com
