SERAPHIM 266613336 WINGS TP

(W) Mamoru Oshii (A/CA) Satoshi Kon

Two of the most acclaimed anime directors of all time, Ghost in the Shell's Mamoru Oshii and Perfect Blue's Satoshi Kon, came together to create a manga: Seraphim: 266613336 Wings. Seraphim is the story of a future earth devastated by the "Angel Plague," a pandemic that induces apocalyptic visions in the afflicted, even as it ossifies their bodies into dead, seraphic forms.

Can we say "Fanboy wet dream?" Two of the greatest creators of sequential art, both on the screen and on the page, join together to bring you what could be the best manga release of the year!! Seriously, I'm not gonna hype this anymore. If you are unfamiliar with their works, I suggest IMDB post haste, good sirs and madams.

SHE-HULK #12

(W) Charles Soule (A) Javier Pulido

FINAL ISSUE!
• The end of the Blue File...and the end of an era!
• But when one door closes, another one opens, and Jen finds herself face to face with her most important case yet.

Alright, so I must admit that for many years the idea of reading a She-Hulk comic was about as enticing as a needle to the eye. Then one day in 2005, I stumbled upon Dan Slott's masterful reintroduction of the mean, green, law practicin' machine that we all know and love today. Thanks to Slott and Bobillo, She-Hulk found a new lease on life, both with fans and creators alike that eventually resulted in the launch of this current series which unfortunately, ends with this issue. Now, I could go into a huge rant about how B.S. this all is, but truly, I am just happy to have had 12 absolutely MIND-BLOWING issues from the brilliant creative team of Charles Soule and Javier Pulido that proves there are no bad characters, just bad creators. Throw in a double-shot of Ron Wimberly guest art and you've got what will be hailed as one of the BEST female lead, (or even male lead) cape books on the rack. She-Hulk is dead! LONG LIVE SHE-HULK!!

PLUNDER #1

(W) Swifty Lang (A) Skuds McKinley

WHY WE LOVE IT: Swifty Lang gave us a whole new look at werewolves with Feeding Ground, a terrifying tale packed with social commentary. When he told us he'd teamed up with newcomer Skuds McKinley for a story of horror on the high seas, we were all in.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT: BOOM! Studios and Archaia have been at the forefront of the horror comics revival, with titles like Feeding Ground, Curse, and Clive Barker's Next Testament. Plunder is the next step in that evolution, as fans of Captain Phillips and The Thing will enjoy this mix of current events-inspired adventure and supernatural terror.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT: After facing off with an illegal Chinese vessel, a gang of Somali pirates tries to board what they think is a research vessel, only to find themselves in the midst of a massacre. As their worst nightmares become reality, the 14-year-old boy who went from translator to reluctant pirate not only becomes the key to survival, but must decide for himself how far he is willing to go in the name of self-preservation.

STRAY BULLETS: SUNSHINE AND ROSES #1

(W/A) David Lapham

STRAY BULLETS CONTINUES WITH THE BEGINNING OF A BRAND-NEW ARC OF STORIES!

SUNSHINE AND ROSES is about violence, love, and really bad decisions. The Baltimore underworld is falling apart at the seams and blood has been spilt. Where and when things went to hell in a handbasket can be traced back to a time a few years earlier, when a man named Harry ran the city, Spanish Scott and Monster enforced the rules, and an insecure young man named Orson met a wild and crazy girl named Beth. The two together cooked up the boldest, most outlandish, and just about the stupidest plan ever devised-a plan to steal a whole lot of Harry's money and drugs and get a little revenge along the way.

While every issue of STRAY BULLETS presents a complete story, the start of each new arc is the perfect place to jump on board and see what everybody else is talking about.

Yes, I am talking about Stray Bullets AGAIN. Why? BECAUSE IT IS SO DAMN AMAZING!!! David Lapham starts yet another tumultuous tale of love and its consequences presented in glorious black white!! Neo-Noir at its finest!!

CLUSTER #1

(W) Ed Brisson (A) Damian Couceiro

WHY WE LOVE IT: Ed Brisson (Sheltered) is one of comics' best new voices and we could not wait to work with him on an original series following his run on Sons of Anarchy. After hearing his pitch for a gritty, violent, sci-fi epic in the vein of The Dirty Dozen, we knew there was no one better to bring the criminal cast of characters to life than the other half of the Sons of Anarchy team and Ed's Murder Book collaborator, Damian Couceiro.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT: Cluster is a series for fans of old-school, hard-boiled action. Brisson and Couceiro know how to tell stories about rich characters with criminal backgrounds, and the off-world setting allows them to tell personal stories with a massive scope. Have you ever wondered what a book starring all those lowlifes in the gutters of sci-fi havens like Mos Eisley would look like? Then we have the book for you.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT: In the distant future, as mankind discovers life on other planets, it needs soldiers to defend its colonies and outposts across the stars. In order to increase the number of boots on the ground, criminals are offered the opportunity to serve in the place of incarceration. But as wars wage on and more soldiers are needed, small-time crimes are given long-term punishments. When a group of prisoners serving their time as soldiers become stranded and abandoned on a war-torn planet, they'll need to work together to survive and uncover the truth behind Earth's role in deep space.

CASANOVA: ACEDIA #1

(W) Matt Fraction, Michael Chabon (A) Fábio Moon, Gabriel Ba

Marooned in Los Angeles with no memory of his past, Casanova Quinn takes on the mystery of his criminal benefactor's tangled and bloody history-as strange occult forces from the future conspire to... do stuff? To him? To Los Angeles? To you? YES.

Featuring the first in a series of backup stories by Pulitzer Prize winner MICHAEL CHABON and CASANOVA co-creator GABRIEL BÁ.

Nine years ago when I saw the first issue of this comic sitting on the stands, it called to me like a siren from another world. From cover to cover, this comic exploded deep within my mind and it took me weeks to work out the aftershocks that ran through my soul. It is with this book that I fell in love with Matt Fraction. Maybe not the real Fraction, but the one who is Casanova Quinn, the one who is larger than life and whose fiction influences their reality like Grant Morrison or some shit. This man made me want to make comics and it was this comic that I try to aspire to create. Something so layered, so bizarre, so intense and yet so real, so meaningful. Forget what you know about Fraction. Forget what you know about Casanova Quinn. This is the future. Read it with your third eye!!

DYING AND THE DEAD #1

(W) Jonathan Hickman (A) Ryan Bodenheim

"TODAY, TOMORROW, THE GRAVE"
A murder at a wedding reveals a fifty year-old secret. At great cost, a man with a dying wife is given the opportunity to save her. A lost tribe is reborn in another time. Seemingly disparate events that force relics from the Greatest Generation to come together for one last hurrah.

Brought to you by award-winning writer JONATHAN HICKMAN and fan-favorite artist RYAN BODENHEIM, THE DYING AND THE DEAD is high adventure meets end-of-life care.

It's Indiana Jones for Old People. There are no fedoras, only bedpans.
