SIX GUN GORILLA #1(W) Simon Spurrier (A) Jeff Stokely
Welcome to "the Blister" -- a bizarre other-world colonized by humans
sometime in the 22nd century, which quickly became a hotly-contested
source of fertile land and natural resources long ago exhausted on
Earth. In this new frontier, a rogue gunslinger and his companion wander
across a wilderness in the grips of a civil war, encountering
lawlessness, natives, and perversions of civilization in a world at the
crossroads between the past and the future. The fact that said
gunslinger is a bio-surgically modified silverback gorilla toting a pair
of enormous revolvers is neither here nor there.
Written by Simon Spurrier (Marvel's X-MEN LEGACY, EXTERMINATION) and drawn by hot new talent Jeff Stokely (FRAGGLE ROCK) and featuring a cover by Eisner Award-winning artist Ramón Pérez (A TALE OF SAND, AvX: VS), SIX GUN GORILLA is a pulpy mash-up of Western weirdness and lo-fi science fiction unlike anything else on the stands!

LONE WOLF AND CUB 2100 OMNIBUS(W) Mike Kennedy (A) Francisco Ruiz Velasco
Daisy Ogami holds the key to a dying future's salvation. Powerful interests will stop at nothing to obtain Daisy, but her android bodyguard will do anything to protect her . . . and the promise of a brighter day. Collects Lone Wolf 2100: Shadow on Saplings; Lone Wolf 2100: The Language of Chaos; and Lone Wolf 2100: Pattern Storm.
What could make one the GREATEST and most EPIC tales of betrayal and revenge ever put to not just paper, but almost any visual medium, better? CYBERPUNK!! (naturally) Released concurrently with the original Dark Horse run of Lone Wolf back in the early 2000s, I was initially very put off by the idea that a comic so perfect, so utterly completely well crafted, could be tainted by changing even one little element, that I refused to read it for years. Clearly I must have been on some shitty drugs when I made that decision cause holy crap, was I wrong! Kennedy and Velasco do an amazing job of paying homage to the original work while still keeping the reader guessing and creating an environment that feels as real as that of the Edo period the original creators worked so hard to convey. Neon, gritty alleyways, cybernetic ninjas--what's not to love? Cyberpunk is life--embrace it. RECOMMENDED BY CASEY!!

ASTRO CITY #1

ASTRO CITY is back in a new, ongoing monthly series that showcases old heroes and new, as The Ambassador comes to Earth, and an ordinary man is caught up in a cosmic conflict! Featuring the return of favorites like Samaritan and Honor Guard, and the debut of some new sensations! Plus, the seeds of a new mystery: Who is the Broken Man? The entire award-winning creative team is back to kick off a new epoch of the human and the super human. Get in on the ground floor of Astro City's next epic!
I am so very excited. There are some DC and Marvel superhero books that I love, but this superhero title is my favorite. Busiek's writing never misses. Some people that I've talked to are a little put off by the art, but if you read the book, there is no other art that would have worked with the stories being told. It's Golden Age perfection in a Silver Age book. Do yourself a favor and check this title out. Everyone's superhero soul could do with a cleansing scrub-down every once in awhile, this is the book that can get that done.

TEN GRAND #2
(W) J. Michael Straczynski (A) Ben Templesmith
"ANGELS NEVER LIE"
FDA (Federal Demon Association) Advisory. Contents contain: one cult church where incantations are encoded into the playlist; one flesh-dwelling, food-obsessed demon; one seer capable of perceiving the spirit world but blinded to this one; one missing woman; one murder; one angel with an agenda of his own; and one rendezvous between supernatural investigator Joe Fitzgerald and the woman he loves, now deceased, in what may or may not be heaven. Warning: do not operate heavy equipment while reading.
The latest offering from Joe's Comics continues with our intrepid investigator's feelings still trapped between the worlds of the living and the dead. There is also a variant cover by Bill Sienkiewicz - just to remind you that Straczynski is not the most difficult name to spell in comics.
